Looking for a mower built like a battleship? For sale is a vintage late-1980s Bolens Model 8656. This classic self-propelled mower is in remarkable condition for its age and is perfect for collectors or anyone who appreciates old-school American engineering.
Key Features & Performance:
-
Strong Runner: Starts up and runs reliably.
-
Elite Mulching: This model is famous for its mulching capabilities—it handles grass far better than many modern equivalents.
-
Heavy-Duty Build: Solid steel construction that puts modern “big box” mowers to shame.
Condition Notes:
-
Self-Propelled System: The drive system works, though it currently has the original belt. It slips slightly on steep inclines and will eventually need a fresh belt.
-
Wheels: One wheel has been replaced previously. The front wheel is nearing the end of its life and will likely need a replacement soon.
-
Restoration Potential: This is an ideal candidate for a full restoration project or a very capable daily driver with a little bit of DIY maintenance.
This is a rare find in this condition. Don’t miss out on a legendary piece of turf equipment!
