For sale is a John Deere X748 diesel-powered garden tractor featuring mechanical 4WD and a rear differential lock. This is a highly capable machine that includes a heated cab (with lights and wiper), a 48″ shaft-driven mower deck, and a 47″ snowblower with a front PTO quick-hitch kit.

While this tractor has 3,850 hours and significant cosmetic rust, it has been mechanically maintained and is ready to work or serve as a great restoration project.

Maintenance & Recent Updates

I have performed extensive service to get this machine winter-ready:

• Fluids/Filters: All fresh (Engine, Transmission, and Front Axle).

• Battery: Brand new (Warrantied through May 2028).

• Mower Deck: Fully serviced with new idler pulleys, rebuilt spindles, sharpened blades, and fresh gearbox oil. The deck is very solid.

• Snowblower: New drive chain and hydraulic chute cables; fully lubricated and functional.

• Repairs: New headlight bulbs, resealed engine oil pan, and new seals on the front left steering knuckle.

Known Issues & “Project” Details

The tractor has significant rust from years of snow removal. I intended to restore it fully but no longer have the time.

• Body/Frame: Rust/rot on floorboards, cab door bottoms, and wheels.

• Mechanical: The cruise control lever is stuck; reverse and parking brake linkages are stiff due to rust.

• Leaks: Small leak at the front PTO seal.

• Tires: Front tires are worn, but brand new OEM replacement tires are included in the sale.

• Electrical: The RIO (Reverse Implement Option) is currently bypassed/malfunctioning.
